looks like you tapered pants leg from knee down. Its good start but i think you can also taper thigh area too.
Instead of going down a full pants size (which i think you can do, but thats a personal preference for every1) keep getting same waist size and have tailor taper entire leg. that way you have enough room to feel unrestricted but your fit still looks polished.
It will be like your pants size is only going down ½ a size.
