EVERYTHING is too small. Jacket is too tight, look at all that pulling at the button area. The lapels are bowing, do you see how they look broken in half? Jacket is too short. Pants are too slim, this results in bunching up around the knees and no clean drape. I can see your fingers in your pocket, this is how tight the pants are.
It’s a DB M, is not a 2 button blazer, so I expect it to have these “wrinkles”. Also the shoulder pads might be very big, and probably that’s the reason why the blazer looks a bit small. And by judging the score, not many people seem to agree with your opinion. Nevertheless, is just what I see and what I like.
Ah yes, the score dictates that this is a good fit… Let me try again, the shoulder line isn’t smooth and unbroken, a well-fitted shoulder lies flat. From there on out the lapels should lie flat against the chest, but, I’ll give this guy the benefit of the doubt because he has his hand in his pocket, lifting the jacket. The wrinkling on the front is caused by excessive pulling of fabric, just look at the awkward angle of the button on the right part of the picture. The jacket’s pulling on the chest as well. The wrinkling on the sleeves could have several reasons but I’m assuming it’s due to this guy’s broader shoulders. The pants are rather self-explanatory.
Now, if you expect these creases to be there, you are very lucky my friend. It means that your standards for how a suit should fit are very different from mine and that you should be able to find a “proper” fitting suit anywhere you go. I have very few DB jackets, and albeit not a contemporary fit, I think of them as defined and they are tapered through the midsection, but none show these “wrinkles”.
I’m not even saying anything about this guy’s choice for footwear, the length of his jacket or how he tries to mix ultra formal with ultra casual. All I’m saying is that, whether you like a contemporary fit or a traditional fit, your clothes should fit you.
Anonymous, I appreciate your comment and helps the discussion. I believe he wants to go for a more contemporary look. He is 25-30, and wants to have a look of that age. I can understand a man being 40-50 who wants a more classic fit for his suit. I still like it. maybe I would have gone for a tassel loafer with a slightly thicker sole, and in addition to be leather. Nonetheless, keep commenting like that, it’s good to share opinions!
Wow, what a discussion. thanks for that.
I bought this suit when I was a bit thinner, but unfortunately I catch some pounds lately. So instead of holding it in a wardrobe and waiting for better fit of my body I decided to wear it ; )
Pants are quite tight, thats right, but it’s still comfortable. They was created as extremely slim fitted and I’m ok with this.
The DB, as a low budget, ready to wear product is, at least, fine. I’ve got hands in pockets and I present proudly my chest, so it looks like it looks. As I wrote on my blog, this outfit shows how to play in casual way with some pretty formal stuff. It’s obvious, that my poses in this photos are quite casual too. In near future, I’ll use this suit in more proper outfit, so you’ll be able to compare and judge ; )
Anyway, thank you for your feedback and votes.
